Who We Support

We support women all over Vermont, here are some of their stories:

In Chittenden County…
A 26 year old mother of two was living in a shelter to escape an abusive husband when she called us. She had become pregnant when her estranged husband raped her. She had no job, no income, and was isolated from friends and family as a result of the domestic violence.

In Franklin County…
A 21 year old mother of a toddler had dropped out of college to try to support her child. She was living in her grandmother’s basement, bringing in $340 per month when she became pregnant.

In Lamoille County…
A college student was raped by a family member. She had nowhere else to turn for help.

In Washington County…
In the wake of the recession, a 29 year old mother of two had her job cut to part time and her husband had been laid off. They felt that it would be impossible for them to support another child when they could barely support themselves.
